Coach Instagram bio examples that book calls, for life, business and executive coaches

A coach's Instagram bio that books calls says who you coach, the change you help them make, and one next step, in that order. Bios that list certifications and "helping you live your best life" get skimmed; bios that name a person and a problem get the profile visit turned into a click.
Short answer: Use three lines and one link. Line 1: who you coach ("First-time managers in tech"). Line 2: the outcome in plain words, with no income figure you cannot back up. Line 3: proof you can actually show, such as a podcast, a book or a credential you hold. Link to a page that explains the offer and then the booking form, not straight to a calendar. The FTC treats an income promise in a bio like any other ad claim.
What should a coach put in an Instagram bio?
Instagram gives you a name field, a bio and links. Use each for one job.
| Field | Job | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Name field | Your name plus the search term people use | Dana Reyes, Executive Coach |
| Bio line 1 | Who you coach | Coaching first-time engineering managers |
| Bio line 2 | The change, stated honestly | From firefighting to running a team that ships |
| Bio line 3 | Proof you can show | Host of [podcast name]. ICF PCC (only if you hold it) |
| Link | One clear next step | "Free 20-minute team audit" or "How coaching with me works" |
The name field is searchable inside Instagram, so "Executive Coach" or "Business Coach" there does more than the same words in the bio.

Can a coach put income claims in an Instagram bio?
Only if the claim is true and typical, and you can prove it. The bio is advertising for your coaching, so the same rules apply as to a sales page.
- Typical results. Under the FTC's Endorsement Guides, an ad that presents a client's result implies others will get it too, and if you cannot substantiate that, you must clearly disclose what people generally achieve (16 CFR 255.2). "Clients make $50k months" in a bio implies it is typical.
- Money-making claims. In October 2021 the FTC sent a Notice of Penalty Offenses about money-making claims to more than 1,100 companies, and its release names "investment and business coaching" among the areas covered, with civil penalties then of up to $43,792 per violation.
- What passes. A description of who you help and what you work on ("pricing and hiring for agency owners") makes no earnings claim. Our cautious reading: a revenue band that describes who you coach ("agency owners at $20k to $100k a month") describes the client, not a result, as long as nothing suggests you got them there.
Our page on FTC rules for coaches goes through which lines in reels and clips pass and which do not. General information, not legal advice.
Can you write "certified coach" in your bio?
Only with the credential you actually hold. The International Coaching Federation says only current, valid ACC credential holders in good standing may use the ACC logo and designation, and unauthorized use leads to loss of the credential (ICF, checked October 2026); its PCC and MCC marks follow the same pattern. A certificate from a training school is not an ICF credential, so name the school instead.
How do you set up the link in bio so it books calls?
Instagram lets you add up to five clickable links to a bio (Tubefilter, April 2023; Instagram's help page would not load for us). Only the first shows on the profile without a tap, so make it count.
- First link: a short page on your own site. Who it is for, what a call covers, what it costs to work with you or how to find out, then the booking form. A cold visitor who lands straight on a calendar rarely books.
- Second link: the free thing. A podcast episode, a template or a talk that shows how you think.
- Skip the link tree with twelve buttons. Every extra choice is a reason to leave.
Match the link to the bio's last line. If the bio says "Book a free intro call below", the first link opens the intro call page.
What makes the bio actually work?
The profile visit comes from a reel. A bio converts people who just watched you answer a question well, so the grid under the bio matters as much as the words. Pin three reels: one that shows who you coach, one that shows how you think, and one with a clear invitation to book.
Coaches with a podcast, webinars or recorded group calls already have those reels on tape. One hour of talk-heavy video usually gives us 12 to 20 clips. Our list of business coach social media post ideas covers what to post under the bio once it is set.
If you want those clips cut and posted daily on your own Instagram, that is what our retainer does: 2 example clips for your approval, then live within 48 hours. Entry is $2,000 a month for 2 clips a day. See clipping for coaches, how we work with founder-led businesses, or book a 30-minute call.
Questions people ask
What should a life coach put in their Instagram bio?
Who you coach, the change you help them make, and one next step such as a free intro call. Name a specific person and problem rather than a general promise about a better life.
How do you write a coaching bio?
Three short lines: who you help, the outcome in plain words, and proof you can show such as a podcast or a credential you hold. Finish with one call to action that matches your first link.
Can I say I am a certified coach on Instagram?
Only with a credential you hold, named accurately. The ICF limits its ACC, PCC and MCC designations to current holders in good standing; a training-school certificate should be named as that school's certificate.
Should a coach put prices in their Instagram bio?
Usually not. Put prices or a starting price on the linked page, where you have room to say what is included.
