Clipping statistics 2026

Updated 15 October 2026 · Written by the SOVE7GN founders

This page collects the most useful public numbers on clipping and short-form video, for marketers, journalists and clippers. Every statistic has a source link and a date. We left out anything we could not trace to a named source, and we do not include SOVE7GN results here.

Short answer: YouTube Shorts averages over 200 billion daily views (YouTube, June 2025). Clipping campaigns pay clippers about $0.40 to $25 per 1,000 views. Whop's Content Rewards pays out over $40,000 a day (Forbes, April 2026). IShowSpeed was the most clipped streamer in a 30-day census to August 26, 2026, with 4,835 tagged clips.

Rules and risk statistics

Platform and legal rules shape what a clip can earn. See clipping and FTC disclosure.

  1. October 1, 2026: YouTube said Shorts will reduce the reach of re-uploaded content and "further prioritize original content," per PPC Land. See the Shorts originality update.
  2. Polymarket-linked clips drew more than 140 million views across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, per Tubular data cited by The Block (June 21, 2026). A June 2026 lawsuit alleges clippers were told not to make the videos feel like ads, per Kelley Drye; these are allegations.
  3. Kick clips run 10 to 180 seconds and Kick streamers keep 95% of each subscription, per Kick's help center (clips, June 2026; revenue split, August 2026). See Kick clipping.

How to use these numbers

Quote the source and the date, not just the number. Clipping moves fast: rates on a campaign listing can change within a week, and YouTube announced two rule changes between August and October 2026. If you cite this page, link the original source too.

Two cautions. Self-reported figures (Lacy, Clavicular, N3on's network size) come from the creators themselves. Census counts like CreatorDB's are lower bounds, because they only find tagged clips.

For SOVE7GN's own working numbers: one hour of talk-heavy video usually gives 12 to 20 clips, a music release usually gives 25 or more, and about 1 in 6 clips in our CPM campaigns is rejected at review. See how much clippers make.
