How much do clippers make?
Updated 10 October 2026 · Written by the SOVE7GN founders
You've probably seen screenshots of clippers earning thousands a month. Some do. Most don't. Here's the honest maths so you can work out what's realistic for you.
Short answer: clippers earn approved views ÷ 1,000 × the campaign's rate. Public campaigns mostly pay $0.20 to $6 per 1,000 verified views, with most near $1. So 1,000,000 approved views at $1 earns $1,000. What you actually make depends on how many of your views pass review, the rates you can get, and how consistently you post.
The formula
Earnings = approved views ÷ 1,000 × rate
| Approved views a month | At $0.50 | At $1 | At $2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100,000 | $50 | $100 | $200 |
| 500,000 | $250 | $500 | $1,000 |
| 2,000,000 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $4,000 |
Rates from OpenClip's rate survey, checked August 2026.
Why most clippers earn less than they expect
- Not every view counts. Clips that break rules or look botted are rejected. In our network, about 1 in 6 clips is rejected.
- Budgets run out. Many campaigns stop paying when the pool is spent.
- Caps. A viral clip may hit a maximum payout.
- Minimums. Clips below a view threshold may earn nothing.
- Inconsistency. Earnings come from posting good clips every day, not one hit.
What helps you earn more
- Real accounts in one niche. Followers who expect a type of content watch it.
- Strong hooks. See short-form video hooks.
- Following the brief exactly. Rejected clips earn nothing.
- Good campaigns. Funded budgets, fast review, reliable pay.
- The right niche. See the best niches for clippers.
Red flags
- Promises of "$10,000 a month" with no explanation.
- Campaigns that aren't funded before they open.
- Networks that reject clips without saying why.
- Anyone selling you views to "boost" clips. It gets you banned.

Our network is application-only and runs from Discord. Every campaign is fully funded before it opens. We review clips within 24 hours and tell you why if we reject one. Questions people ask
Can clipping be a full-time income?
For a few experienced clippers with strong accounts, it can be. For most, it's side income. Treat it as a skill you build.
How long until I get paid?
It depends on the campaign. With us, once your clip is approved, you're paid through Whop.
Do I pay tax on clipping income?
Usually yes, as self-employed income. Rules depend on your country.
How many accounts should I run?
Start with one or two you can post on consistently. More accounts only help if you can keep quality up.
