ClipAffiliates alternative: marketplace fee vs managed fee
Updated 10 October 2026 · Written by the SOVE7GN founders
ClipAffiliates describes itself as a performance-based marketplace for clipping and UGC, where brands pay clippers per verified view. If you're comparing it with a managed agency, the real question is simple: what does each fee pay for?
Short answer: a marketplace charges a smaller fee because you run the campaign. ClipAffiliates' own site lists a 9% platform fee on deposits. A managed agency charges more because it runs the campaign for you. SOVE7GN charges 15% on top of a clipper pool you fund, from $5,500, and that covers the brief, example clips, human review of every clip and weekly reporting.
How ClipAffiliates works
From ClipAffiliates' own pages (checked October 2026; their claims, not ours):
- Brands create campaigns and set a CPM rate, commonly $1–$5 per 1,000 views.
- Clippers join campaigns and earn per verified view.
- Views are read through platform APIs rather than screenshots.
- Brands get a window to reject a clip before payment.
- It lists a 9% platform fee on deposits.

The maths
On a $5,500 pool:
- 9% marketplace fee: about $495 in fees, and you do the managing.
- 15% SOVE7GN fee: $825 in fees, and we do the managing.
The difference is about $330 on that pool. The question is whether the hours of briefing and review are worth more than that to you. For most founders and artist teams we talk to, they are.
When a marketplace makes more sense
- You have a social media manager with time to review clips daily.
- You want to test clipping with a very small budget.
- You also want UGC (new content filmed by creators), not just clips of your existing videos.
When managed makes more sense
- You want one person accountable for what goes out under your name.
- Your content needs judgment: music, comedy, or anything where a bad cut can embarrass you.
- You want your own pages run too. Our retainer plans start at $2,000 a month.
Questions people ask
Is ClipAffiliates legit?
It's a real marketplace with public pages for brands and clippers. As with any platform, check the current terms and fees on their site before funding a campaign.
Does SOVE7GN do UGC?
No. We clip the long videos you already have. If you need creators to film new content, a UGC platform is the better fit. See clipping vs UGC.
What happens to rejected clips on a SOVE7GN campaign?
They're never paid from your pool. About 1 in 6 clips gets rejected in our network.
Can I start with a smaller pool than $5,500?
Our CPM campaigns start at $5,500. If you want to start smaller, our Entry retainer is $2,000 a month and runs your own accounts.
