Clipping tools for clippers
Updated 24 October 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips
You don't need expensive software to clip well. You need a small toolkit that lets you go from source video to approved clip quickly, every day. Here's what working clippers actually use.
Short answer: a clipper's core toolkit is an editor (mobile or desktop) with good captions and 9:16 export, an AI clipper to find moments in long talk videos, a game recorder if you clip gaming, a simple tracker for submissions and earnings, and a notes file of hooks that worked. Start free and only pay for tools that save you real time.
The core toolkit
| Tool | Why you need it | Free option? |
|---|---|---|
| Video editor | Trim, crop, caption, export | Yes, several |
| Caption tool | Many viewers watch muted | Often built into editors |
| AI clipper | Finds moments in long videos fast | Many have free plans |
| Game recorder | Captures gaming moments | Yes (Medal, OBS, Xbox Game Bar) |
| Tracker | Submissions, approvals, earnings | A spreadsheet works |
| Hook notes | What worked, to reuse | A notes app |
What to look for in an editor
- Fast trimming and splitting
- Auto captions you can correct
- 9:16 canvas and 1080×1920 export
- Text styles you can save as templates
- No watermark on export
Tracking your work
Keep a simple sheet:
| Date | Campaign | Clip link | Status | Views | Earned |
|---|
It shows which campaigns and formats actually pay, so you spend time where it counts.
What's worth paying for
- Removing watermarks or limits that hurt your clips
- Time savers you use daily, like faster AI clipping
- Storage, if you work with large source files
Skip anything that promises "viral" results. The moment and the hook decide that.
Tools don't replace the basics
Most rejections come from not following the brief, not from the tool. See how to get clips approved.
Clipping with SOVE7GN
Our campaigns come with the source videos, 2 example clips and clear rules, so you spend less time guessing and more time clipping. Applications are through our Discord.
A daily workflow with these tools
A simple routine that fits around a day job:
- Find (10 minutes). Run the source video through your AI clipper or scrub your replay buffer. Shortlist three moments.
- Edit (20 minutes). Cut, caption and export the best two from a saved text template.
- Check (5 minutes). Read the brief again: audio, credit, tags, length.
- Post and log (5 minutes). Upload, then add the link to your tracker.
- Review (weekly). Sort your tracker by earnings and move your time toward what pays.
Saved templates are what make this fast. Set them up once and reuse them on every clip.
