How to start clipping with no followers

Everyone starts at zero. The good news: short-form feeds show content from small accounts all the time, so a new account can get views fast if the clips are good. Here's a plan.
Short answer: pick one niche, set up a clean account, post 1 to 2 practice clips a day from content you have permission to use, study what gets views, and join open clipping campaigns as soon as you can. Short-form feeds don't require followers to show your clips, so early views come from clip quality, not follower count. Many networks then want to see that track record before accepting you.
Week 1: Pick a niche and set up
- Choose one niche you actually watch: music, a game, podcasts, comedy.
- Set up the account. See clipping account setup.
- Learn your editor: trim, crop, captions, export.
Weeks 2–4: Practise in public
- Post 1 to 2 clips a day from content you're allowed to use, such as open campaigns that grant permission, or creators who allow clipping.
- Open every clip on the payoff.
- Caption everything.
- Note which hooks and moments get the most views.
Join open campaigns early
Many marketplace campaigns don't require a minimum follower count to join, and pay per approved view. That makes them a good way to practise with real briefs and start earning. Read each brief carefully.
What networks look for
When you apply to curated networks, they usually want:
| They look for | Why |
|---|---|
| Real followers | Views from real people |
| Steady views | Consistency beats one viral clip |
| Niche focus | Your audience matches campaigns |
| Clean clips | Shows you can follow a brief |
Mistakes to avoid
- Buying followers or views. It gets accounts banned and applications rejected.
- Posting everything. Mixing niches confuses your audience.
- Quitting at week two. Growth often comes in bursts after consistent posting.
When to apply to SOVE7GN
Apply once you have real followers on at least one platform and some proof of views. A smaller account with steady views can be worth more than a big one with weak views. Join our Discord and open an apply ticket.
Questions people ask
Can I clip with 0 followers?
Yes. Short-form feeds show clips from new accounts. Some campaigns accept you from day one.
How long until I get views?
It varies. Consistent daily posting usually shows patterns within a few weeks.
Should I start on TikTok, Reels or Shorts?
Post on all three if you can; see which one your niche takes off on.
Do I need to show my face?
No. Most clippers never appear in their clips.
