Life coach Instagram accounts to study, and the system behind them a smaller coach can copy
Updated 3 November 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips
Life coach Instagram accounts worth studying include Mel Robbins (@melrobbins), Jay Shetty (@jayshetty), Tony Robbins (@tonyrobbins), Brendon Burchard (@brendonburchard), Gabby Bernstein (@gabbybernstein), Lewis Howes (@lewishowes), Martha Beck (@themarthabeck), Robin Sharma (@robinsharma) and Jody Moore (@jodymoorecoaching). The one habit they share is easy to miss from the grid: every one of their websites links a podcast, so their Instagram runs on clips from long conversations, not on posts made from scratch.
Short answer: On 3 November 2026, all 9 of these coaches' own websites linked to a podcast or show. That is the part a coach with 5k to 300k followers can copy: record one long conversation a week, cut it into daily clips, and keep one clear promise in the bio. Do not copy their scale, their celebrity guests or any income claim you cannot back up. This is a study list, not a ranking, and we quote no follower counts.
How did we check these accounts?
On 3 November 2026 we opened each coach's own website and recorded the Instagram account it links to and whether it links a podcast or show. An account is on this list only if the coach's site links to it that day, which confirms the handle is theirs. Instagram showed us a login wall instead of profile pages, so we did not read bios, follower counts or posts, and we quote none. Inclusion is not an endorsement or a claim of any relationship with SOVE7GN.
Which life coach Instagram accounts are worth studying?
| Account | Website | Long-form source the site links | What to learn |
|---|---|---|---|
| @melrobbins | melrobbins.com | The Mel Robbins Podcast | One person, one show, clips cut from every episode |
| @jayshetty | jayshetty.me | On Purpose podcast | The site separates "Find a coach" from "Become a coach": two offers, two audiences |
| @tonyrobbins | tonyrobbins.com | The Tony Robbins Podcast | The site sells coaching with a "Results Coach" alongside the podcast; one brand, several offers |
| @brendonburchard | brendon.com | A podcast in the site menu | A three-word niche: the site's schema calls him a "High performance coach, author and speaker" |
| @gabbybernstein | gabbybernstein.com | A podcast in the site menu | A coaching membership with a free trial, so Instagram has a low-risk next step to point to |
| @lewishowes | lewishowes.com | The School of Greatness | An interview show: every guest is a new set of clips |
| @themarthabeck | marthabeck.com | A podcasts page | A "Become a Life Coach" training program next to her own coaching: a second business with its own advertising rules |
| @robinsharma | robinsharma.com | The Daily Mastery Podcast | A show name that is also the promise |
| @jodymoorecoaching | jodymoore.com | Better Than Happy | A narrow niche: the site title is "Life Coaching with LDS Values" |
Method for the summary number: for each of the 9 sites we looked for a podcast link or podcast page in the site's menu or homepage on 3 November 2026. All 9 had one.
What can a smaller life coach copy?
1. A long-form source. None of these accounts depends on writing a new post every day. They record a long conversation and cut it. For a coach, that can be a weekly solo episode, a recorded Q&A with your community, or a webinar. One hour of talk usually gives us 12 to 20 clips, which is a week or more of daily posting.
2. A niche you can say in one line. "High performance coach" and "Life coaching with LDS values" are both specific enough that the right person knows in a second the account is for them. "Helping you become your best self" is not. Our coach Instagram bio page has bio examples for life, business and executive coaches.
3. One next step. A free trial, a newsletter, a free call. The accounts above send people somewhere specific. A coach with 20,000 followers needs that even more, because each visitor matters more.
4. A show name that carries the promise. Better Than Happy, Daily Mastery and On Purpose each tell a listener what they get. If you start a podcast, the name is also your clip watermark and your search term.
5. Separate audiences, separate offers. At least two of these coaches also train coaches: Jay Shetty's site has "Become a coach" and Martha Beck's has "Become a Life Coach". If you do both, keep the messages apart on Instagram. Selling a certification by implying graduates will earn a certain amount brings in FTC earnings-claim rules.
What should a life coach not copy?
- Income and result claims. A clip saying a client "made $40K in a month after my program" is a consumer endorsement, and the FTC's Endorsement Guides say it will likely be read as "representative of what consumers will generally achieve"; without proof of that, the ad should disclose the generally expected result (16 CFR 255.2(b)). Our FTC rules for coaches page covers what passes and what does not.
- Guest-driven reach. The biggest shows on this list book well-known guests. A smaller coach's version is interviewing clients (with written consent) or local experts, not chasing celebrities.
- Volume without a source. Posting several times a day from scratch is hard for one person to keep up. Volume is sustainable when it comes from one recording.
- Clips from client sessions. Never post from a private coaching call without the client's written consent, even blurred. Use group calls where everyone agreed to recording and posting, or your solo episodes.
How do you run a life coach Instagram like this without a team?
Record one long conversation a week and hand it off. We cut it into clips, post them daily on your own accounts, and write captions that stay inside the FTC rules. You approve 2 example clips first, and we go live within 48 hours. Entry is $2,000 a month for 2 clips a day; Growth is $4,000 for 4. Our clipping agency for coaches page explains the service, and business coach social media covers post ideas for B2B coaches. See how we work with founder-led businesses or book a 30-minute call.
Questions people ask
Who are the best life coaches on Instagram?
There is no fair ranking, because follower counts change daily and do not measure coaching quality. Accounts worth studying for how they run Instagram include @melrobbins, @jayshetty, @tonyrobbins, @brendonburchard, @gabbybernstein, @lewishowes, @themarthabeck, @robinsharma and @jodymoorecoaching, each verified through a link on the coach's own website on 3 November 2026.
Who is the most famous life coach?
There is no measured answer. Tony Robbins, Mel Robbins, Jay Shetty and Brendon Burchard are among the best-known names on this list. Fame is the wrong thing to copy, though; the weekly long-form show behind each of them is the part a smaller coach can repeat.
What should a life coach post on Instagram?
Short clips of you answering one real question your clients ask, cut from a longer recording such as a podcast episode or a group Q&A. End each with one next step, such as a free call or a newsletter.
How do life coaches get clients on Instagram?
By posting useful clips often enough that the right people recognize them, a bio that says exactly who they help, and one clear next step such as a booking link. Clips from a weekly long-form show make that volume possible for one person.
