Medal clipping: turning game moments into short-form clips

Updated 24 October 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips

Medal is one of the most popular apps for clipping games on PC. It's great at capturing moments. Turning those moments into short-form posts that grow an audience takes a few more steps.

Short answer: Medal is a free gaming clip app. It records your recent gameplay in the background, and when something happens you press a hotkey to save it as a clip you can trim and share. To turn Medal clips into strong short-form posts, trim to start just before the moment, crop to vertical, add captions or a hook, and post consistently on TikTok, Shorts and Reels.

How Medal clipping works

  1. Install Medal and set your clip hotkey.
  2. Play as normal. Medal keeps a rolling recording.
  3. Press the hotkey after a big moment.
  4. The last stretch of gameplay is saved as a clip.
  5. Trim and share, or export to edit further.

Check Medal's own settings for clip length, quality and performance options.

Medal vs other ways to clip games

Medal is one option alongside NVIDIA Instant Replay, AMD Instant Replay, Xbox Game Bar and OBS's replay buffer. See how to clip games on PC.

For streamers and gaming creators

If you have more clips than time to edit and post them, that's what a clipping retainer solves. SOVE7GN posts 2 to 4 clips a day on your accounts, from $2,000 a month, and our clipper network can push your moments across 7 platforms. Gaming is one of the niches most of our campaigns have been in so far.
