Microneedling Instagram captions: 18 captions by post type, and the claims to keep out of them
Updated 2 November 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips
The microneedling captions that book consults explain one thing per post: what the treatment is for, what aftercare looks like, or why your clinic does a step a certain way, and then ask the reader to book. Keep result claims inside what the FDA has authorized microneedling devices for, and never caption a post as if the needles deliver a serum, because the FDA says microneedling devices are not approved for that.
Short answer: pick the caption by post type (education, aftercare, behind the scenes, booking), keep it under four lines before the "more" cut, and end with one call to action. The FDA lists authorized uses as improving the appearance of facial acne scars, facial wrinkles and abdominal scars in patients 22 or older, and says microneedling devices are not approved for delivering cosmetics or topical medications. General information, not legal advice. Checked November 2026.
What does the FDA say that changes your captions?
The FDA's microneedling devices page (content current as of 15 October 2025) gives you four lines to write around:
| What the FDA says | What it means for a caption |
|---|---|
| It has authorized microneedling devices to improve the appearance of facial acne scars, facial wrinkles and abdominal scars, for patients 22 or older | Talk about appearance, not cure. Our cautious reading: do not aim posts at teenagers |
| Microneedling "may be considered a medical procedure, not a cosmetic procedure" | Name the trained provider who does it |
| Devices are "not approved for delivery of cosmetics, topical medications" | Drop "infuses your serum deep into the skin" and similar lines |
| Patients should ask "whether a new microneedle cartridge is used for each patient" | Show the new cartridge being opened. It answers the question for them |
Products that do not reach the living skin layers and only claim to exfoliate are generally not devices, per the same page. That makes a useful contrast post: what a clinic device and a trained provider add over a home product. Captions for the facials, peels and lash work your estheticians do are on esthetician Instagram captions.
Radiofrequency microneedling is a separate case. The FDA issued a safety communication about it in October 2025, and the wording rules are on our Morpheus8 marketing page.
Which captions work for each type of post?
Fill the brackets with your own details. Each caption is short enough that the call to action shows before the "more" cut on most phones.
Education posts
- "Microneedling in one sentence: tiny controlled needle passes that start your skin's own repair. [Provider name] explains who it suits. Consults are free this month, link in bio." Use the offer line only if it is true and the terms are stated.
- "Acne scars, fine lines, texture. What microneedling is used for, and what it is not. Watch to the end."
- "Why we space sessions [X] weeks apart. [Provider name] on how skin repairs between visits."
- "At-home roller vs clinic microneedling: what is actually different. Save this before you buy one."
- "Is microneedling right for you? Three reasons [Provider name] would say not yet."
Aftercare posts
- "Can you go in the sun after microneedling? Our aftercare sheet, read out loud by [Provider name]."
- "Day 1, day 3, day 7. What normal looks like after microneedling, filmed on our own team."
- "Makeup, workouts, skincare: what to skip and for how long. Screenshot this."
- "The one aftercare mistake we see most. [Provider name] explains."
Behind-the-scenes posts
- "New cartridge, every patient, every time. Here is us opening one."
- "What happens in the 20 minutes before the needles: cleanse, numbing, depth check."
- "Meet [Provider name]: [license], trained on microneedling since [year]. Ask her anything below."
- "Why we photograph your skin in the same light every visit."
Booking and offer posts
- "Three openings left on Thursday. Book through the link in bio or reply BOOK." Only if it is true; UK clinics should skip countdown wording.
- "New to microneedling? Start with a skin consult. No needles at the first visit."
- "Series bookings now open for [month]. Ask about scheduling your sessions [X] weeks apart."
- "Gift a consult this holiday. Card terms in the link." In the US, gift card wording has federal rules, covered on med spa promotion ideas.
- "Questions about microneedling? Drop them below and [Provider name] answers the top three on Friday."
What should a microneedling caption never say?
- "FDA-approved microneedling." Use the wording on your own device's FDA authorization, and check whether it says cleared.
- "Infuses PRP, exosomes or serum into the skin." The FDA says the devices are not approved for delivering cosmetics or topical medications.
- "Results guaranteed" or "erases scars." A featured result is read as typical unless you say otherwise (16 CFR 255.2).
- A patient's face without a signed authorization. If you are a HIPAA covered entity, HHS says you need the patient's written authorization before filming or posting them (HHS film and media FAQ).
UK clinics: the CAP guidance lists micro-needling as a cosmetic intervention, so ads may not run where 25% or more of the audience is under 18 (CAP guidance).
Captions are the easy part. Where does the video come from?
Most of these captions sit on a 20 to 40 second clip of your provider talking. Record one session of questions and answers: one hour of talk usually gives 12 to 20 short clips. We cut and post them on your accounts, with 2 example clips approved before anything goes live. Questions people ask
What should I caption a microneedling post?
Say one thing: what the treatment is for, what aftercare looks like, or why your clinic does a step a certain way. End with one call to action, such as booking a consult through the link in your bio.
Is there an age limit for microneedling?
The FDA's page says it has authorized microneedling devices for certain uses in patients 22 or older. Check your own device's labeling and keep your posts aimed at adults.
Can I say microneedling delivers serum or PRP deeper into the skin?
Not as a claim about the device. The FDA says microneedling devices are not approved for delivering cosmetics, topical medications or other substances into the skin.
Should I post microneedling quotes on Instagram?
Quote graphics are easy to make but say nothing about your clinic. A 20-second clip of your provider answering one real question does more, and the quote can go in the caption.
