Real estate LinkedIn post ideas for agents and brokers who want referral business
Updated 1 November 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips
The real estate LinkedIn posts that work are written for the people who send you clients, not for buyers scrolling for homes: relocation managers, wealth managers, estate attorneys, developers and other agents. Post native video market notes, short deal breakdowns and local knowledge those referrers can pass on, and keep listing promotion to a minimum.
Short answer: Post 2 or 3 times a week. Lead with native video (upload the file, do not paste a YouTube link), a market note with one sourced number, and a closed-deal story told as a problem and a fix. Write for referrers: HR and relocation teams, financial advisors, attorneys, builders. LinkedIn is still advertising under real estate rules, so your brokerage name goes on anything about a listing or your services (NAR SoP 12-5). General information, not legal advice.
Who is an agent actually talking to on LinkedIn?
| Audience | What they need from you | What to post for them |
|---|---|---|
| Corporate HR and relocation managers | Someone safe to hand a moving executive to | Neighborhood briefings, school-zone and commute facts, timelines |
| Wealth managers and private bankers | A specialist for clients buying or selling a high-value home | Market notes on price bands, tax-adjacent topics with a CPA |
| Estate and family law attorneys | An agent who handles probate and divorce sales with care | Process explainers, what an executor needs to list a home |
| Developers and builders | Sales velocity and buyer feedback | Absorption and buyer-objection notes from your showings |
| Other agents (out of area) | A trusted referral partner in your market | Market snapshots, what you do for referred clients |
None of these people want "just listed" graphics. They want to know you are the person to send someone to.
What are 10 LinkedIn post ideas for a real estate agent?
- The 60-second market note. One number from your MLS, the month, and what it means for a seller at your price band. Native vertical or square video.
- The relocation briefing. "Moving an employee to [city]: the four neighborhoods I would show them first and why." Written post with a short video.
- The deal story. A closed sale told as the problem, the decision and the result, with the clients' permission and no private details.
- The referral thank-you. Tag the advisor or attorney who sent the client, with their permission.
- The process explainer. How a probate sale works in your state, step by step, for the attorneys who follow you.
- The builder note. What buyers said at the last ten showings of a new development, without naming the buyers.
- The mistake post. One error executives make when they sell before a move, and the fix.
- The panel or podcast clip. A 45-second cut of you speaking at an event.
- The quarterly outlook. A carousel or document post with five numbers and their sources.
- The hire or team post. Who joined, what they handle, why it matters to a referrer.
Ideas 1, 3, 7 and 8 are the strongest as video. They come out of the same recording as your Instagram and YouTube content, so one hour of talking can feed every platform.
Do real estate advertising rules apply on LinkedIn?
Yes. NAR Standard of Practice 12-5 applies to advertising "in any medium (e.g., electronically, print, radio, television, etc.)" and requires your firm name in a reasonable and readily apparent manner (NAR Code of Ethics). Texas names "social media" in its definition of advertising media and requires the broker's name in at least half the size of the largest contact information (22 TAC 535.155). The Fair Housing advertising rule (24 CFR 100.75) applies to a relocation post as much as to a listing ad: describe the neighborhood, not the kind of person who should live there.
Our cautious reading: a market note with no listing and no offer of services may not be an advertisement at all, but the line is blurry, and "DM me if you're thinking of selling" turns it into one. Put your brokerage name in your LinkedIn headline and in any post that mentions a listing or your services. Our realtor social media rules page has the state-by-state detail.
What format works best on LinkedIn for agents?
Native video uploaded directly, with captions burned in, under a short written hook. Our LinkedIn video for founders guide covers the formats and lengths that suit people who talk for a living. A clip of you explaining one idea will be remembered by a wealth manager long after a photo of a kitchen.
A practical weekly rhythm:
| Day | Post |
|---|---|
| Tuesday | Market note video |
| Thursday | Deal story or process explainer (written, with a clip if you have one) |
| Once a month | Quarterly outlook carousel or a referral thank-you |
The real estate market update video page shows how to film a monthly update that gives you the Tuesday clips for the month.
How does this fit with your other platforms?
LinkedIn is the smallest audience and the most valuable per viewer for referral business. It should not need its own shoot. Record one long conversation a week or a month (a market talk, a podcast, a panel), and cut it for LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and TikTok. Our realtor personal branding page explains why recorded talk builds the brand better than logos.
That is the work we do. One hour of long video usually gives 12 to 20 clips, posted on your own accounts daily, LinkedIn included, with 2 example clips approved first and clips live within 48 hours. Entry is $2,000 a month for 2 clips a day. Book a 30-minute call or read how we work with founder-led businesses.
Questions people ask
What should a realtor post on LinkedIn?
Market notes with one sourced number, relocation briefings, closed-deal stories told with permission, and process explainers for the attorneys, advisors and HR teams who refer clients. Keep listing promotion light.
Is LinkedIn good for real estate agents?
It is good for referral and relocation business, because the people who send clients are on it. It is a weak place to sell a specific listing to a buyer.
How often should a real estate agent post on LinkedIn?
Two or three times a week is enough, as long as at least one post a week is a native video.
Do I need my brokerage name on LinkedIn posts?
On anything that advertises a listing or your services, yes, under NAR's Standard of Practice 12-5 and most state rules. Putting it in your headline as well is the cautious approach.
