Luxury car dealer Instagram accounts to study, and what an independent dealer can copy

Updated 5 November 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips

Luxury car dealer Instagram accounts worth studying include Chicago Motor Cars (@chicagomotorcars), Manhattan Motorcars (@manhattanmotorcars), Prestige Imports in Miami (@prestigeimports), iLusso (@ilussooc), Daniel Schmitt & Co. in St. Louis (@danielschmittcars), Holt Motorsports (@holtmotorsports), and in the UK Romans International (@romansinternational), Tom Hartley Jnr (@tomhartleyjunior) and Hexagon Classics (@hexagon_classics). The habit most of them share is a YouTube channel behind the Instagram: long walkarounds and showroom tours that feed the short clips.

Short answer: We verified 9 dealer accounts on 5 November 2026 through each dealer's own website. All 9 sites link Instagram, 8 of 9 also link YouTube, and none of the 9 homepages linked a TikTok account that day. Copy three things: film each car once as a long walkaround and cut it into clips, put a person on camera, and give each location its own account if you have more than one. This is a study list, not a ranking, and we quote no follower counts.

How did we check these accounts?

Instagram sends our browser to a login wall, so we did not read bios, follower counts or posts. On 5 November 2026 we opened each dealer's own website and recorded the Instagram, YouTube and TikTok links it publishes, plus any video series it names. An account is here only if the dealer's own site links to it that day. Inclusion is not an endorsement or a claim of any relationship with SOVE7GN. Everything below is observed from the outside.

Which luxury car dealer Instagram accounts are worth studying?

AccountDealerWhat the dealer's site showsWhat to copy
@chicagomotorcarsChicago Motor Cars, West Chicago and Naperville, ILThe site links three Instagram accounts, one per region (@chicagomotorcarskc and @chicagomotorcarssc as well), two YouTube channels and an "Our Videos" pageOne account per location, so each feed shows cars a local buyer can see
@manhattanmotorcarsManhattan Motorcars, New YorkThe site links Instagram and has a "Manhattan Neighborhood Tour" pageLocal content beyond the cars: the neighborhood is part of the pitch
@prestigeimportsPrestige Imports, North Miami Beach, FLThe site links Instagram and YouTube and calls the business second-generation and family-owned since 1977A family story is content a newer dealer cannot fake
@ilussoociLusso, with inventory in Costa Mesa, Palm Beach, Houston and ScottsdaleThe site links Instagram and YouTube and leads with buying and consigning exoticsClips aimed at sellers as well as buyers
@danielschmittcarsDaniel Schmitt & Co., St. LouisThe site links Instagram and YouTube and says most clients live far away and fly in to see the carsVideo does the first viewing for a buyer who is not local
@holtmotorsportsHolt Motorsports, West Chester, PAThe site links Instagram and YouTube and says it has sold Porsche cars since 1982A single-marque specialist: every clip is for the same buyer
@romansinternationalRomans International, UKThe site links Instagram and YouTube and features a showroom tour videoThe whole showroom as one long video, then cut into clips
@tomhartleyjuniorTom Hartley Jnr, UKThe site links Instagram and YouTube and has a "Tom Talks" videos sectionThe founder's name is the brand, and he talks on camera
@hexagon_classicsHexagon Classics, LondonThe site links Instagram and YouTube and says it has specialised in classic cars since 1963History and provenance as content

Method for the summary numbers: on 5 November 2026 all 9 homepages linked at least one Instagram account. Eight linked YouTube (all except Manhattan Motorcars). None linked TikTok. A dealer may still have a TikTok its homepage does not link; we counted only what the site shows.

What do the best dealer accounts do differently?

1. Long video first. Eight of nine link a YouTube channel. Romans International's featured video is a full showroom tour titled with the value of the stock on the floor. A long walkaround is filmed once and gives a dozen short clips: exterior, interior, the one rare option, the sound, the price take. Our car dealership reel ideas page maps one walkaround into 15 clips.

2. A person, not just the car. Tom Hartley Jnr has a section called Tom Talks. A buyer spending six figures wants to know who is selling, how they judge condition, and whether they tell the truth. A car on a turntable answers none of that. The owner talking does.

3. Accounts per location. Chicago Motor Cars links separate accounts for its regions. A buyer in Kansas City sees cars they can drive to, not cars 500 miles away.

4. Video for the buyer who will not visit. Daniel Schmitt & Co. says most of its clients live far from St. Louis and fly in. For a dealer like that, the video is the first viewing. Film what a buyer would check in person: paint readings, service records, the underside.

5. A narrow lane. Holt (Porsche), Hexagon (classics) and iLusso (exotics and consignment) each post for one kind of buyer. A narrow inventory makes a narrow audience, which is what you want when each sale is large.

Why are luxury dealers on YouTube but not TikTok?

Our cautious reading of the 9 sites: a luxury buyer wants the long version before spending, so YouTube does work for the dealer that TikTok does not. That does not mean TikTok is wasted. The same vertical clips cut for Instagram Reels can post to TikTok and YouTube Shorts at no extra filming cost, and our car dealership TikTok guide covers what works there. The point is order: film long, then cut short.

What should a dealer not copy?

Payment talk in clips. In the US, saying a payment amount or down payment on camera triggers Regulation Z disclosures, including the APR and repayment terms (12 CFR 226.24). For a lease, a payment amount or a "nothing down" line triggers Regulation M (12 CFR 213.7). UK finance promotions have their own FCA rules. Talk about the car, the price and the value; put finance offers in writing with full disclosures. The full list is on car dealership advertising laws.

Buyers on camera without consent. Delivery-day clips are popular, but get the buyer's written permission at the deal, including their face, voice, plate and name.

Reach for its own sake. A supercar clip can go viral with teenagers who will never buy. Hooks about condition, spec and value pull the buyers you want.

How do you run a dealer Instagram without a video team?

Film each new arrival as a 5 to 10 minute walkaround with the owner talking. One hour of long video usually gives us 12 to 20 clips. We send 2 example clips for approval, go live within 48 hours, and post on your own accounts. Entry is $2,000 a month for 2 clips a day; Growth is $4,000 for 4. If you sell three cars a year, this is more content than you need; if you take in new stock every week, it fits. Our luxury car dealer marketing page explains the service, and our luxury car rental marketing playbook covers the rental side. See how we work with founder-led businesses or book a 30-minute call.

Questions people ask

Which luxury car dealers are best on Instagram?

There is no fair single ranking. Accounts worth studying include @chicagomotorcars, @manhattanmotorcars, @prestigeimports, @ilussooc, @danielschmittcars and @holtmotorsports in the US, and @romansinternational, @tomhartleyjunior and @hexagon_classics in the UK, each linked from the dealer's own website on 5 November 2026.

What should a luxury car dealer post on Instagram?

Walkaround clips cut from one long video per car, the owner's take on condition and value, delivery days with written buyer consent, and the one rare option that sets a car apart. Leave monthly payments out of clips.

Do exotic car dealers use TikTok?

Some do, but none of the 9 dealer homepages we checked on 5 November 2026 linked a TikTok account, while 8 of 9 linked YouTube. Clips cut for Instagram can be posted to TikTok without new filming.

How do car dealers get more views on Instagram?

Post more often from one long recording, open each clip with the most interesting detail of the car in the first second, and put a person on camera who knows the car.
