How much should you pay clippers?
Updated 10 October 2026 · Written by the SOVE7GN founders
If you're running a clipping campaign, the rate you set per 1,000 views decides who shows up, how fast your budget goes, and how good the clips are. Here's how to set it.
Short answer: most public clipping campaigns pay clippers between $0.20 and $6 per 1,000 verified views, with most around $1 (OpenClip rate survey, checked August 2026). Set the rate higher when your rules are strict or your niche is hard, lower when your footage is great and clippers already want to post it. Only pay for views on clips that pass review.
Typical rates
| Rate per 1,000 views | What it usually attracts |
|---|---|
| Under $0.50 | Few clippers, mostly newer accounts |
| Around $1 | The common market rate for many campaigns |
| $2 and up | Faster uptake, more experienced clippers, stricter rules possible |
These are ranges from public campaigns, not rules. Your niche and footage matter more.
What pushes the rate up
- Strict rules: specific audio, region targets, required tags, approval steps.
- Hard niches: B2B, finance, anything that needs care with context.
- Weak footage: one wide camera, poor audio, slow content.
- Competition: lots of better-paying campaigns live at the same time.
What lets you pay less
- Great footage: clear moments, good audio, several camera angles.
- Popular niches: music and gaming attract the most clippers.
- Simple rules clippers can follow easily.
- A good reputation: clippers prefer campaigns that pay on time and explain rejections.
Caps and limits
Most campaigns set:
- a minimum view count before a clip earns anything
- a maximum payout per clip, so one viral clip doesn't drain the pool
- a total budget, after which the campaign closes
Don't pay for fake views
Paying per view invites cheating. Before you pay, check how views grew, whether likes and comments match, where viewers are, and platform bot flags. In our network, about 1 in 6 clips is rejected for problems like these. See how to spot fake views.
Or let us set it
On a SOVE7GN CPM campaign we recommend the rate, write the rules, review every clip and pay clippers from your pool. You fund the pool, from $5,500, plus a 15% management fee.
Questions people ask
Should I pay a flat fee or per view?
Per view, on approved clips, keeps you from paying for clips nobody watched. Some campaigns add a small flat bonus to attract strong clippers.
How often should clippers be paid?
Regularly and predictably. Clippers talk, and slow payers struggle to attract good ones.
Can I change the rate mid-campaign?
You can, but tell clippers clearly. Changing terms on clips already posted damages trust.
What does SOVE7GN pay its clippers?
The rate is set per campaign and listed for clippers on each one. Clippers are paid per 1,000 approved views through Whop.
