Med spa event ideas that fill the book, how to film each one, and the raffle rules to check first

Updated 31 October 2026 · Written by Reyansh Juneja and Naman Dhiman, the co-founders of SOVE7GN, who run the campaigns and review the clips

The med spa events that fill the book are small and built around the injector: a VIP evening for existing clients, a live Q&A or demo with the injector, a launch night for a new device, a membership drive, a skin-analysis day and a bring-a-friend night. Each one is worth more on camera than in the room, because one evening filmed properly gives a month of clips, and the money is made in the 72 hours afterwards when guests book.

Short answer: Pick one event a quarter. Invite existing clients first, cap it at what your team can consult in one evening, and book consults on the night. Film the injector's talk, the Q&A and the room, not guests' faces without signed consent. Do not sell raffle tickets: in Florida, drawings by chance are reserved for qualifying tax-exempt organizations, and a game promotion may not require a purchase to enter. General information, not legal advice. Checked October 2026.

Which event formats work for a med spa?

EventWho to inviteWhat happensWhat to film
VIP client eveningClients from the last 12 monthsInjector talk, mini consults, event-only booking perkThe talk, 3 to 5 questions answered, the room filling
Injector demo or live Q&AClients and their friendsThe injector explains a treatment on a consenting model or on a face chartEach answer as its own clip
Device or product launchClients interested in that concernWhat the device does, who is a candidate, who is notThe "who it's not for" answer is often the best clip
Membership driveRegular clientsHow the membership works, what it costs, who it suitsThe explainer, plus 2 or 3 members on camera with consent
Skin-analysis dayNew and lapsed clients15-minute scans and a plan, booked in slotsBefore the scan, what the scan shows, the plan conversation (with consent)
Bring-a-friend nightClients and one guest eachQ&A, tour, consult slotsThe tour and the Q&A

The format matters less than the cap. If your team can do 20 mini consults in an evening, invite for 20 to 25 bookings, not 80 guests. A device launch night that uses a brand name needs the brand's permission; our Hydrafacial marketing page covers that trademark license rule.

How do you film an event so it becomes a month of clips?

Treat the injector's talk as the main recording. Mic them, put one camera on a tripod for the whole talk, and have one person film the room and short reactions on a phone. Then cut:

  1. The talk into clips, one point each.
  2. Every audience question and answer into its own clip. These are the best performers because they are questions other clients have.
  3. A 20-second recap of the night for the next event's invitation.
  4. A "who this is not for" clip from the launch talk, which builds more trust than the pitch.

One hour of long video usually gives us 12 to 20 clips. A 45-minute talk plus a Q&A is close to that. Our med spa content calendar shows how to spread them over 4 weeks, and med spa reel ideas lists what else to cut.

Guests on camera need care. Attending your event can reveal that someone is a patient, and HIPAA requires a patient's authorization before their information is used for marketing (45 CFR 164.508(a)(3)). Our cautious reading: film the injector and the room from behind the audience, and put a patient's face in a clip only with a signed authorization. Our HIPAA social media rules page covers filming in more detail.

What are the raffle and giveaway rules?

Giveaways at events are where clinics break laws they did not know existed. Rules differ by state; Florida shows the main traps:

Our cautious reading for any state: make entry free and open to everyone at the event, without a purchase, publish short rules, and check your own state before you run it.

Two more lines specific to aesthetics. A prize that is a medical treatment should be "a consultation, and treatment if you are a candidate", because a clinician still has to decide. In the UK, a giveaway naming Botox is an ad for a prescription-only medicine; see can you advertise Botox on Instagram. For event pricing ("event-only 10% off"), the FTC rules on "free" and "was" prices are on our med spa promotion ideas page.

What should happen in the 72 hours after?

WhenWhatWho
On the nightBook consults at the event, with a deposit if you use themFront desk with a tablet
Next morningThank-you text with the booking link and the event perk's end dateCoordinator
Day 2Post the first clip from the talk and tag nobody without consentSocial
Day 3Personal call to guests who asked a question but did not bookInjector or coordinator
Week 2 to 4The rest of the clips, one point eachSocial

The perk needs a real end date, and the date you say on stage, in the text and in the caption should be the same.

Can SOVE7GN cut the event footage?

Yes. Send us the full talk and Q&A recording; we send 2 example clips for your approval and go live within 48 hours on your own accounts. Entry is $2,000 a month for 2 clips a day. Questions people ask

What events can a med spa host?

VIP client evenings, injector Q&As or demos, device launch nights, membership drives, skin-analysis days and bring-a-friend nights. Keep each one small enough to consult every interested guest on the night.

Can a med spa do a raffle?

It depends on the state. In Florida, drawings by chance are limited to qualifying tax-exempt organizations, and game promotions cannot require a purchase to enter. Make entry free and check your state's rules.

How do you promote a med spa event?

Invite existing clients first by text and email, post a short clip of the injector explaining what the evening covers, and give the event perk a real end date.

Should you film clients at a med spa event?

Only with a signed authorization from anyone identifiable who is a patient. Film the injector's talk and the room from behind the audience instead.
