Kick clipping: how it works and does Kick pay clippers?

Updated 15 October 2026 · Written by the SOVE7GN founders

This page is for clippers who want to cut Kick streams, and for Kick streamers who want more clips made of them. It covers Kick's own clip tool, the limits that matter, and what is publicly known about who pays.

Short answer: anyone logged in on Kick can clip a live stream or VOD by pressing C, and clips run 10 to 180 seconds, per Kick's help center (updated June 15, 2026). Kick has not published a per-view rate for clippers as of October 2026. Paid Kick clipping comes from streamers such as N3on, from brand campaigns, or from Kick deals that streamers describe themselves.

How Kick's clip tool works

Kick has a native clip tool for live streams and VODs. According to Kick's help article on creating clips, last updated June 15, 2026:

FeatureKick's rule
Who can clipAny logged-in viewer, or the streamer
HowClick the Clip icon or press C, set the length with the slider, add a title, Publish
Length10 to 180 seconds
Cooldown60 seconds between clips
DownloadOpen the clip and click Download (.mp4)
BlockedYou cannot clip if you are banned from that streamer's chat
DeleteOnly the channel owner can delete clips, from the Clips tab

The 180-second limit is longer than YouTube's 60-second Clip feature. That helps clippers, because you can grab the full setup and payoff and trim later.

How to clip Kick streams for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

A Kick clip is a raw 16:9 cut. To earn views on short-form apps you need to edit it. Here is a workflow that works.

  1. Watch live or scrub the VOD. On Kick, VODs from verified channels stay up for up to 30 days, and from non-verified channels for 7 days, per Kick's VOD article. Clip older moments before they disappear.
  2. Clip wide. Use most of the 180 seconds so you have room to find the real start.
  3. Download the .mp4 from the clip page.
  4. Reframe to 9:16. Stack the facecam over gameplay or crop to the streamer. See split-screen gameplay clips.
  5. Cut to the hook. Start on the line or reaction, not the build-up. Aim for 20 to 45 seconds unless the moment needs more. See short-form video hooks.
  6. Add captions and your own edit. YouTube said on October 1, 2026 that it will reduce the reach of content "re-uploaded from other creators" without anything added, per PPC Land. Raw Kick clips are exactly that.
  7. Tag the streamer and follow any campaign rules before posting.

For the Twitch version of this workflow, see how to clip Twitch streams.

Does Kick pay clippers?

Not through any published program. As of October 2026 we found no Kick page offering a per-clip or per-view rate to clippers, which matches what FindClout reported on September 27, 2026.

What Kick does publish is close, but aimed at streamers. Its revenue split article, dated August 27, 2026, says streamers get 95% of each subscription, and describes Bounties as "short-form video content opportunities where KICK or brand partners pay Streamers for clips." In other words, the documented clip money goes to the streamer, not to independent clippers.

Two Kick streamers have described Kick money behind their clips. Both claims are self-reported:

Who actually pays Kick clippers

If you want to be paid for clipping Kick streams, the money comes from one of three places.

SourceHow it paysExample
The streamerPer view, through a Discord or marketplaceN3on: $40 per 100,000 views, per Business Insider
A brand or educator on WhopPer 1,000 views, from a poolTJR's Content Rewards campaign listed his Kick channel and paid $1.00 per 1,000 views

Why Kick streamers lean on clippers

Kick streamers need off-platform reach more than most. CreatorDB's census for the 30 days to August 26, 2026 found N3on's clips drew 21.6 million TikTok plays against 12.3 million YouTube views, and linked that to Kick having no strong discovery feed. If new viewers will not find you inside Kick, clips on TikTok and Shorts are how they find you.

If you stream on Kick and want a managed campaign, SOVE7GN's CPM clipping starts from a $5,500 pool plus a 15% management fee, and goes live within 48 hours. See gaming clipping.
